Flat tire repair

Check whether your tire can be safely repaired.

Call to schedule

What’s included

A loss of pressure does not automatically mean you need a new tire. A technician needs to inspect the tire and the location and extent of the damage to determine whether repair is appropriate. Damage to a sidewall and damage from driving on a flat tire can prevent a repair.

  • Locate the leak

Explain how quickly pressure drops and whether you have noticed a puncture or valve issue.
  • Assess repairability

The technician checks the damage and tire condition before confirming that repair is appropriate.
  • Review your options

If repair is not appropriate, compare replacements compatible with the vehicle and its other tires.

How it works

A nail, slow leak or low-pressure warning calls for a tire inspection. The location and size of damage, the tire’s internal condition and whether it was driven flat determine the available options. A temporary fix is not a substitute for checking the tire.

  1. A technician spraying soapy water on a tire’s tread

    Step 1: Find the leak

The tire is checked for the puncture, a leaking valve or a leak at the bead.
  2. A technician inspecting the inside of a tire with a flashlight

Step 2: Check it inside and out

The technician checks the damage and the tire’s condition, inside and out, before confirming it can be safely repaired.
  3. A patch being pressed onto the inside of a tire

Step 3: Repaired free when it’s safe

When the tire can be safely repaired, the repair is free. If it can’t, you compare replacements before anything is done.
  4. A repaired tire on a wheel balancer

Step 4: Back on your vehicle

The tire goes back on its wheel and the wheel back on your vehicle, at the recommended pressure.

Can every nail puncture be repaired?

No. The location, size and condition of the damage matter, as does the tire’s internal condition. The shop must inspect it before confirming a repair.

Can you guarantee a repair online?

No. A photo or description cannot replace an inspection. If replacement is needed, your advisor can help match the tire and explain the available options.

How much does flat tire repair cost?

It depends on your vehicle and what it needs, so your store quotes it after looking at the vehicle and before any work is done.

How long does flat tire repair take?
